Sourcing Raw Fiber

Each product starts as 100% raw alpaca fiber. We source all our alpaca fiber from the US and Peru!

2

Spinning

The fiber is first combed and then spun by hand onto spindles. Once a single-ply thread is spun onto a spindle we take two of those and spin them together to make two-ply yarn.

3

Washing and Warping

The yarn is then washed and dried. Now it is ready to use, it is then warped in the traditional way by walking the string around three stakes to the length needed.

4

Weaving

These strings can now be tied onto the loom and the weaving process can begin. All the patterns used in our weaving are authentically Tibetan and handed down from generation to generation.

5

Tailoring

Once the cloth is finished, we take it to our tailors to turn it into a blanket, pillow, or other TAHDA heirloom product!
